Media Kit for author, Sarah Hickner
Short BIO
Sarah Hickner is a dreamer and a doer. She’s been obsessed with horses her entire life, which has led to some epic highs and really hard falls. Those experiences, woven together with her faith, have been chronicled into short stories, magazine articles, and an award-winning memoir, Finding Gideon. When Sarah isn’t at the barn, you can find her at home with her husband, two kids, and a coonhound.
Long BIO
Born and raised in Mississippi, Sarah Hickner followed her dreams to gallop racehorses in Kentucky during college. During those 2 years, her life was forever changed. Her world was crashed, crumbled, and pieced back together. The experience and the lessons learned from it led to a calling from God to write the story for others.
Her favorite quote is, “We rise by lifting others,” and one of her favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:28 “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” This verse reminds her that when it feels like the sky is falling and nothing good could come of the situation, GOD can work it for good. And he always does.
Hickner has released a short story book called, Stories from the Barn Ailse: Real Life Tales of Humor and Grace from a Horse Obsessed Girl. That book was a #1 NEW Release on Amazon across multiple categories! She has also created two journals for aspiring writers: MY Stories from the Barn Aisle and Storyteller: A Creative Writing Journal and Guide to Unlock Your Inner Wordsmith.
On April 28, 2023, the story that started her writing journey became available to the world: Finding Gideon: A Broken Dream, A Missing Horse, and the Faith of a Mustard Seed.
It has won multiple awards including:
A Readers Favorite Gold Medal
A Best Book Winner with Pencraft Awards
Wishing Shelf Book Awards Finalist
Independent Author Network Finalist
Hickner’s stories have captivated hearts, and If you love pulling for the underdog, true stories about faith and perseverence, or heartwarming animal stories, her stories will likely captivate your heart as well.
